Before even thinking about leaving the house for an extended stay with wildlife, make sure you’re geared up to brave the weather, unexpected disasters, and the nasty smell coming from your buddies’ tent at 3AM. We packed a Coleman Tasman XO Hybrid 3-Season sleeping bag, Camelbak Vantage 35, and REI Kingdom 4 3-Season Tent into our GMC Terrain and hit the road.

Whether it's your first time firing up the grill before a game or you have your very own decked out tailgating trailer you consider the child you never had, we've got a few suggestions to make your next trip to the stadium a classic. Our Maxim guru takes a look at the Koolatron P95 Travel Saver Cooler, Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair, Weber Q140 Electric Grill, and, of course, an SUV that can haul your eating arrangement (and the rest of your debauchery-creating friends) in style, like the GMC Terrain.

Sit behind the wheel of this sporty hatch and you'll quickly realize you've hit the jackpot. The refined interior is more akin to a luxury ride with metallic highlights throughout, a red-stitched leather steering wheel, and a touch screen music system complete with iPod dock. Thanks to superb handling and a throaty 2.0 liter, 200 hp, turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine you'll be ready to unleash road hell at the touch of the throttle. And just think, all this while your keister is comfortably cradled in a heated seat.

Drive a loaded GMC Terrain and you might feel like you’re rocking an Escalade, thanks to a teched-out feature list that includes a backup camera standard, two independent seatback DVD screens, Bluetooth phone connectivity, OnStar navigation, and our favorite, a programmable power liftgate, which is useful when your hands are full, with a 2-year-old, say, or four cases of beer (more likely).

A “cute ute” it ain’t. Although the all-new 2010 GMC Terrain shares most of its parts (and its powertrain) with its curvy platform-mate, the Chevy Equinox, the Terrain’s sharp angles and blingy chrome grill set it apart. The five-person Terrain has a few smarty pants tricks up its sleeve, too: a backup cam is standard, and the rear seats push forward to create ass-loads of storage space (63 cubic feet of cargo space). If you can find a small SUV that looks this burly but can do 32 miles per gallon (FWD hwy), email us.

There's a rather large car show going down in Tokyo at the moment and some of the stuff that has come rolling out of it has been ridiculou. The LF-A is Lexus's super car. It's powered by a 4.8 liter v10 and does zero to 60 in a very respectable 3.7 seconds. With 560-hp coming from the powerplant, that's not much of a surprise. The price checks in around $400,000, which is actually kind of expensive for a car that tops out at 202 MPH, but it's a Lexus, so we can only imagine that riding in it is incredibly sweet.

We love Land Rovers, mainly because they look slick on the street, but can seriously throw down on some muddy trail should the urge to go blasting through some serious off-road trails strike you. The LR4 is a big step up from the LR3. It has a bigger, 5.0-liter engine that churns out 375-hp. It also generates more torque than its predecessor, all while cutting down on fuel consumption and carbon emissions. They have also beefed up the suspension and the brakes to make it a better overall performer both on the road and when you're plowing through your neighbor's muddy yard in the middle of the night. It starts at $48,000 and goes way up from there.

The R8, which you may know as the Tony Stark car from Iron Man is one of the most beautiful automobiles we have seen in a long time. Now, they have chopped off the top and made a drophead version that might look even prettier. Despite its pretty boy looks, the R8 sports a 5.2 liter v10 engine that should churn out plenty of power. Sure, it's bound to be a little slower than the coupe version, but we'll give up a few MPH if it means we get the ability to drop the top in nice weather. Better stock up on the firm-hold hair gel. Look for it later this year.

We're always glad when we see a company sticking to what it does best and that's definitely the case with this new super car from Lambo. The power plant in this futuristic ride is a 650-hp V12 engine that propels it from 0-60 in well under four-seconds. That's a lot of bite for a drop top. Of course, it's still a Lambo, so the price is going to be prohibitive for anyone who doesn't also own a helicopter, but that's sort of the point. Just make sure you know how to drive it before buying one, because owning a super car and driving like a granny is a surefire way to make yourself look like a complete tool.

For a non-car person, hearing the horsepower numbers for a Lotus can be confusing. The Elise Club Racer is based on the Elise S, which sports a seemingly wimpy 134 hp. Of course, the cars are so light and well-designed that they can turn those little numbers into big power. The Club Racer reportedly does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, which isn't bad for a car that starts at less than 28,000 Euro (Translation: 165,345 croissants). It has the sporty, spacecraft look you'd expect from any Lotus, too, so you'll look cool in it, even if you have a big gut that screws up the finely tuned performance.

Any scummy Hollywood type can buy himself a super-fast sports car, but most of them can barely drive them. True car guys want to feel the road with no interference from crutches like traction control. British company, Noble, equipped their latest sports car with everything it needs to go fast and not a heck of a lot else. The mid-mounted 650-HP V8 has twin turbos and will get you from 0-60 in three seconds flat. That will come in handy when you're lined up at a red light next to an executive producer in his new Aston Martin.
